The culture of our centre is to encourage child paced routines where each session follows Montessori Work Cycles, in a prepared classroom environment with activities arranged in subject areas. This encourages children's independence and empowerment to seek out challenges of their own choice which builds high self esteem in themselves and others.
Our Montessori philosophy and curriculum teaches skills to help the child to make the transition to primary school and provides an educational foundation that supports the full range of skills that children need for higher education and to become life-long learners.
It has been a concern amongst our staff and their eagerness to introduce sign language. The compelling argument has been that “sign language” is one of our legally and nationally accepted languages and yet no initiatives were being made to encourage implementation of it at early childhood level. That being so our Centre took up the challenge.
The Centre is able to boast that it has incorporated the Sign Language in its curriculum. The Centre began to deliver the programme since the middle of 2012. Year 2013 sees a fully developed programme. One of our teachers has received the necessary academic qualification and the necessary training to confidently deliver the planned programme. To ensure continuity all other staff will be encouraged to secure and the training necessary.

This graduation ceremony for the Diploma or Certificate of Proficiency is available only to those children who have received instructions in Montessori curriculum for a prescribed period of time. And again the graduation programme is only available to the child who celebrates his/her 5th Birthday at the Centre.
The importance of this is only realised when the parents in order to maintain continuity, choose to send their child to another Montessori primary school. Good grounding in Montessori curriculum is important.
The learning through the Montessori curriculum is equally important for the child, should he go to just another primary school. The Montessori approach gives confidence to the child. It empowers the child, giving him a new found independence and enthusiasm. His ability to think things through is that much more enhanced. He is focused, his thirst for knowledge advanced. All children have an enquiring mind, what they need is someone to help him/her realise and cultivate it further.
Graduating at the end of the fifth (5th) year, gives the child a sense of achievement. It will be a proud parent who would enjoy the success and achievement of their child knowing that he/she will do better in years ahead.
