The Centre is a private childcare centre and as such it does not depend upon the community to raise funds that is necessary to operate the centre. However these expenses are nonetheless necessary for the operation of any privately owned centre. The delivering of Montessori curriculum requires specialised equipment and specially trained teachers and the additional cost involved in record keeping. There are several capital projects that the Centre has to undertake to keep up with demands either by parents and or external competitions. The ongoing cost of maintaining the property, such as insurances, mortgage interests, mortgage principal repayments and repairs and maintenance are among the many costs the government funding does not extend to and these are outgoings that are necessary for the operation of the centre. These costs and the future ad hoc costs need to be contributed by the parents. Thus the levy is simply described as Montessori Curriculum. The Centre does not fund raise but it operates on the commercially viable basis.

However, where both parents (or solo parent) who are/is working or studying full time, may be able to claim WINZ subsidy for the hours other than 20 ECE Free Hours spent at work or studying. In all cases, however, the entitlement to WINZ subsidy will be dependant upon the Family Income. We therefore suggest that parents interested in applying for the subsidy should contact Work and Income.
